Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the staff team at Horsham Neighbourhood Mental Health Team (NHMT) Adults Service, for an Experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
We are a friendly, supportive and recovery-focused multidisciplinary team that values the unique skills and perspective Occupational Therapists bring to assessment, intervention, team working and service development. The NHMT provides person-centred, recovery-focused support to adults experiencing serious mental health difficulties. As part of our team, you will support people to achieve their recovery goals, maximise independence and improve quality of life through meaningful occupation and engagement in their communities. This is an exciting time to join Sussex Partnership as community mental health transformation continues to develop integrated neighbourhood services in partnership with primary care, social care, housing, voluntary sector organisations and local communities. You will have opportunities to further develop your specialist occupational therapy skills, deliver innovative occupation-focused interventions and build your experience in facilitating therapeutic groups and recovery-focused programmes across the service.
All staff are supported through a comprehensive supervision and Allied Health training package including Communities of Practice.
Main duties of the job
You will be based in Horsham providing assessments and treatment for clients with severe and enduring mental health conditions, liaising with acute care services, Crisis cafes in partnerships with local 3rd sector providers, Police Street triage options and Police Custody Healthcare to support clients with their mental health and wellbeing

To plan and provide a range of occupational assessments and treatments that will promote recovery and wellbeing for the people that the postholder works with. To provide occupational therapy interventions for referred clients using evidence based, client centred principles to assess,plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hrs within the 9-5, Monday to Friday opening hours of the service.
