Job summary

Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an opportunity to influence strategic workforce decisions, lead organisational change and make a meaningful impact across one of the largest Integrated Care Systems in England?

North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled People Manager to join our People Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in delivering a high-quality people service, supporting managers and senior leaders, and helping shape the future workforce across our organisation.

Main duties of the job

As a senior member of the People Team, you will provide expert professional advice on a broad range of workforce issues, leading on complex employee relations matters, organisational change programmes, consultations, workforce projects and policy development. You will work closely with managers, directors, Trade Union representatives and key stakeholders to deliver workforce solutions that support organisational priorities and enhance employee experience.

You will also:

Lead and manage the provision of an effective operational HR service.

Provide expert advice on employment law, NHS terms and conditions and organisational change.

Support and develop managers to handle workforce matters confidently and effectively.

Build productive relationships with Trade Union and Staff Side representatives.

Lead complex workforce projects, including service redesign, consultation exercises and TUPE transfers.

Develop and review people policies, procedures and workforce initiatives.

Contribute to strategic workforce planning and organisational development programmes.

About us

Our Integrated Care Board (ICB) is the largest in the country.

The ICB is responsible for ensuring that high quality and safe health services are accessible to all of our communities. It has a wide range of functions, including; promoting integration of health and care services, improving peoples health and well-being, reducing health inequalities.

With a £6.6 billion budget and a workforce of 170,000 people across the North East and North Cumbria. As well as strategic functions, ICB staff also work at place level with local health and wellbeing boards in each of our 14 local authority areas. These teams also work alongside our 67 primary care networks which are groups of local GP practices, social care teams and other community- based area providers.

The ICB works with our Provider Collaborative too, this includes the 11 NHS Foundation Trusts in the region, to deliver our shared priorities.
