Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Mental Health Nurse to join our Treatment and Intervention Team based in Redcar. The role involves supporting adults living with mental health needs, the service offers initial assessment and short-term interventions within the community setting with the primary aim of promoting both recovery and living well, liaison with partner agencies to signpost and utilise other resources to support the patient's individual needs.

Student Nurse's that are due to register in the next 3 months are very welcome to apply. Full training and Preceptorship programme will be provided to help you build confidence and develop your career in this specialist area.

Main duties of the job

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop into a community role within a team of supportive and experienced professionals. You will demonstrate excellent assessment skills, interpersonal, and team working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third sector agencies.

  • Current professional registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council RNMH or RNLD
  • To be recognised practice supervisor or work towards in an agreed timescale
  • Trained Clinical Supervisor or work towards in an agreed timescale
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Experience

  • Working with people with mental ill health / learning disabilities
  • Working in a person centred therapeutic organisation
  • Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team

  • Evidence based knowledge of best practice in caring for patients in the designated field
