Job summary

Are you a passionate Dietitian looking to make a meaningful impact in mental health? Join our inpatient mental health team at Parklands Hospital, where you'll have the opportunity to support service users with complex needs, champion recovery-focused care, and help shape the future of dietetic provision within our acute mental health pathway.

Working alongside a skilled and supportive multidisciplinary team including Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Psychiatry and other Allied Health Professionals, you'll play a vital role in improving both physical and mental wellbeing. Main duties of the job

Provide a specialist dietetic service to adults receiving inpatient mental health care, undertaking comprehensive nutritional assessments and developing evidence-based, person-centred treatment plans for individuals with complex mental and physical health needs. Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload, delivering effective interventions, reviews and discharge planning in line with professional and organisational standards.

Deliver specialist nutritional advice and treatment for service users with malnutrition, obesity, eating disorders, disordered eating, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and medication-related weight changes.

Work autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, contributing specialist expertise to assessments, care planning, risk management, ward rounds and discharge processes. Liaise with carers, community services and external agencies to ensure coordinated care and effective transitions between services.

Deliver training and education to staff, carers and service users, and provide supervision and assessment of Dietetic students. Participate in service development, clinical audit, quality improvement and research activities. Maintain professional registration, undertake continuing professional development, and ensure compliance with safeguarding, information governance, health and safety, infection prevention and equality and diversity requirements.

• HCPC Registration.

Experience

• Comprehensive post registration experience including evidence of experience in catering, providing training for staff/carer and running group sessions with service users.
• Experience of working with eating disorder cases either in a community setting or in-patient
• Experience of providing supervision to other colleagues/professionals

• Experience of working with mental health and learning disability within a clinical settings
• Formal training in communication skills e.g.
• Talking Mats, Motivational Interviewing or
