Job summary

Dorset County Hospital are recruiting B5 Physiotherapy Bank workers. This opportunity is ideal for recent physiotherapy graduates living in the Dorchester and surrounding Dorset area who are looking to gain valuable clinical experience, develop their skills across a variety of specialties, and enjoy the flexibility of bank working.

Dorset County Hospital, in partnership with Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, offers the opportunity to work across the acute inpatient site, outpatient clinics, rehabilitation facilities and community as a B5 Physiotherapist. The bank Physiotherapy role will support service vacancies and can be in any of the following areas.

Our 4 month rotational posts include a wide variety of specialties including:

  • Older Persons Wards
  • Acute Stroke and Neuro
  • Stroke & Neuro Rehab Unit (Yeatman Hospital)
  • Early Supported Discharge Stroke (Dorset Healthcare)
  • Orthopaedics (Elective & Trauma)
  • Front of House (Emergency Department & medical assessment unit)
  • Acute Care (Respiratory, Surgery, Medicine and Intensive Care)
  • Musculoskeletal outpatients
  • Community Rehabilitation Team - bedded rehab (Westhaven Hospital, Dorset Healthcare)
  • Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team (Mid-Dorset, Dorset Healthcare

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Diploma or Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Registered as a Physiotherapist with The Health Professions Council or able to apply on graduation

Desirable

  • CSP member
  • Relevant Healthcare courses

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • An understanding of evidence based practice pertaining to Physiotherapy
  • Awareness of national guidelines and standards relevant to Physiotherapy
  • A broad range of undergraduate experience in all core specialities of Physiotherapy
  • Experience of clinical practice in an NHS environment

Desirable

  • Experience in managing limited resources and high workloads.
  • Evidence of actively participating in in-service training and MDT groups
