Main duties of the job

Avery Healthcare is seeking a General Manager - RGN Qualified for their Purley Gardens Care Home. The role involves leading a team to deliver high-quality, person-centered care in a safe environment while ensuring compliance with regulatory and business standards. Key responsibilities include overseeing consistent care delivery, managing staff recruitment, and ensuring budgetary control. The ideal candidate should have four years of experience in a similar care setting, hold a Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification, have a current NMC registration, and possess excellent leadership, communication, and IT skills. Candidates must also be adaptable, capable of assuming various responsibilities on short notice, and able to maintain staffing in line with occupancy and dependency levels.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality care, person centred care and ensuring residents receive care based on best practice.
  • Being responsible for the ongoing recruitment, retention, and development of staff within the Home.
  • Acting as a focal point for contact with residents, their relatives, and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in residents wellbeing.
  • Ensuring safe staffing levels are reviewed and maintained in accordance with both occupancy and dependency.
  • Providing on-going inspirational leadership and management to the staff team.
  • Ensuring costs are well managed and maintained within budgetary controls, by reviewing regularly and monitoring stock.
