An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our small, friendly team at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills to work as a Cardiographer. This is a busy service providing specialist assessment and support for people with heart conditions. You will join a focussed team providing support within the Cardiology Service. You will be an integral member of the Cardiology team performing basic cardiac investigations, which involve direct patient contact. This post offers structured, work based training and experience to people seeking a career in a Health Care setting. Candidates should possess a good standard of GCSE education or equivalent including English and Maths. Main duties of the job
Undertake assessment and recording of basic cardiac investigations (including 12 Lead ECG and Ambulatory ECG & BP Monitors) and basic patient clinical observations as part of the overall assessment of a patient. Work under the supervision of Qualified Cardiac Physiologists at all times, who hold delegated accountability for the work designated Basic clinical observations i.e. heart rate, height, weight Perform 12 Lead Electrocardiogram (ECG)Lying and standing blood pressure Fit and remove Ambulatory ECG and BP monitors To recognise normal and abnormal heart rhythms at a basic interpretation level To assist in the training of new starters and trainees To recognise situations or test findings which need bringing to the attention of senior colleagues/ medical staff for clinical interpretation To check the technical quality and calibration of basic equipment and to report any adverse findings to a senior member of staff To assist in other areas of cardiology under supervision as appropriate To transport (portering) patients to different areas of the hospital where appropriate To assist in other areas of cardiology under supervision as appropriate Performance of basic care procedures and techniques To work flexibly in accordance with the department needs. This may involve changing working days and/or working towards a 7-day service. Works in a range of clinical settings which may include a community location in the future

- SCST Award in Practical Electrocardiography or other equivalent recognition of competency to record ECGs
