Interim Financial Controller - Projects

Axon Moore are currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Controller to bring order, rigour and pace to a month-end process — and to get it fit for purpose ahead of a new finance systems implementation.

This is a genuinely varied role. You'll be joining a fast paced and growing business in Halesowen and you will have real ownership to rebuild the month end process. If you enjoy rolling your sleeves up, fixing what's broken, and then building something scalable, this is for you.

The Role

• Re- building month-end processes ahead of a finance system implementation.
• Getting under the skin of complex numbers and understanding how existing processes currently operate.
• Designing robust controls that will support the business through a systems change.
• Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leadership team.
• Covering month end duties including management accounts and balance sheet maintenance.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and ensure all control accounts are fully reconciled monthly
• Act as a key finance stakeholder in the system implementation project, ensuring new processes are built with month-end efficiency in mind

About You

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• A strong accounting background including audit and financial control
• A track record of improving or rebuilding finance processes, not just running existing ones
• Highly organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable working at pace
• Strong communicator who can work confidently with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
• Hands-on mindset — happy to be in the detail as well as managing the bigger picture
• Available at short notice.
