Finance Specialist

We're looking for a Finance Specialist (Fraud) for a public sector organisation based in Reading (hybrid) on an initial 10-month contract, paying up to £36 per hour (Inside IR35).

This is a hybrid role with up to four days a week on site in Reading.

The successful Finance Specialist will work within the CFO Finance team, delivering financial activities across financial accounting, planning and analysis, compliance and finance systems. You'll provide timely, accurate financial data, support analysis and interpretation, and keep financial processes running to a high standard. You'll also mentor junior analysts, graduates and apprentices, and build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

Financial accounting

Financial planning and analysis (FP&A)

Financial compliance and governance frameworks

Finance systems

Stakeholder management

Process improvement and identifying efficiencies

Experience mentoring and training junior finance staff would be beneficial. A recognised business or finance qualification is desirable, with evidence provided at onboarding.

You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance for this role.
