Job summary
The purpose of this job is to support the provision of an efficient service for the daily operation, testing and commissioning of medical and surgical equipment used within all departments of Wye Valley NHS Trust, as directed by the Medical Engineering and Medical Equipment Library Manager.

To support the Trust in ensuring that service is provided to agreed standards and meets with current legislation and policies.
The requisition of repairs and parts (including stock control) and to check deliveries and repairs against orders.
To be able to effectively communicate technical equipment-related information to clinical staff of all levels.
To reduce the risks involved in using medical equipment, in line with current Health and Safety and other relevant policies.
To actively participate in working parties, audits, and meetings of Medical Engineering and Medical Equipment Library.
To carry out any other duties commensurate with this job title and with the grade and responsibilities of this post.
To comply with the Trust's and the Department's policies and procedures,
e.g. Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity Policy, etc.
To support the functions of the Medical Technicians & Medical Equipment Library technicians in their absence.
To update the Medical Engineering and Medical Equipment Library database.
Assist the manager and the team in running the Medical Engineering and Medical Equipment Library efficiently and cover the Medical Engineering and Medical Equipment Library staff when necessary.
