Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 5 physiotherapist looking to progress to the next step to become a Band 6 physiotherapist in in-patient rehabilitation. The post holder will work at the Homeward Centre, a short-term rehabilitation unit on the Good Hope hospital site. It is essential the post holder has good clinical skills, communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and have good organisational and time management skills, problem solving skills and an enthusiasm for service development.
The Band 6 Physiotherapist will manage a clinical caseload and will undertake a lead role in assessing, treating and discharge planning. They will work closely with the MDT at the Homeward Centre and therapy teams across the Good Hope site.
A Band 5/6 development post will be considered for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job
The Homeward Centre is a 25-bedded therapy and nurse led unit for patients that are medically stable for discharge but still have therapy or care needs to be discharged home. A B6 physiotherapist in The Homeward Centre will provide an invaluable opportunity to gain experience in rehabilitation in an acute setting. You will support patients to achieve their therapy goals with the aim for discharge home. The Homeward Centre accepts patients from all specialties so the patient caseload will be varied with opportunities for service development in new clinical pathways. You can expect to gain experience in functional assessments, running exercise classes, falls prevention management and complex discharge planning. You will join an experienced therapy team and will be expected to participate in the weekend rota and in-service training programme.
