Job summary
We are looking to recruit a kind compassionate individual to our health care assistant team.
The successful candidate will work alongside the nursing team to support patients both pre and post surgery meeting all their daily needs and assisting with mobilising on physiotherapy advice using mobility aides as required.
They will be expected to complete the Care Certificate if not already completed.
Main duties of the job
Maintain Patient confidentiality
Support nursing team caring for post operative patients, taking observations and maintaining accurate documentation and patient records.
Assist with patient nutritional and hygiene needs.
Exhibit professional behaviours and attitude at all times.
Undertake training and development courses deemed appropriate for the role as specified by Trust policy and procedure.
Recognise own level of competence and limitations to ensure safe practice.
Adhere to the Trust's uniform policy.
Actively participate in the Trust's appraisal system.

- Ability to demonstrate/ articulate an understanding of the role and tasks involved and can describe the physical and emotional aspects of the role and some duties which are different to that of a Band 2 Clinical Support worker Can link the Trust values to the role and provide examples from personal experience which demonstrate understanding in relation to the role.
Experience

- Previous experience working in a patient facing clinical support worker role providing direct patient care in health or social care as part of a team. Understanding the principles of safeguarding in relation to this role Can demonstrate ability / experience in supporting patients holistically.
Desirable
- Knowledge of PICS or equivalent electronic patient records
Qualifications
Essential
- Care Certificate/NVQ level 3 / equivalent in a healthcare related topic or equivalent breadth of experience Successful completion of Trust based numeracy & literacy test or provide evidence to confirm achievement of Maths / English qualifications at Level 2 or above Completion of a competency-based workbook Care Certificate
