Our client is seeking a talented Finance Business Partner specialising in devolution to join their team for a temporary contract. Position: Finance Business Partner - Devolution
Contract Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 6 months
Location: Midlands (1 - 2 days a week)
Daily Rate: Up to £750
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality strategic financial advice and insights to senior leaders, supporting effective decision-making and financial sustainability.
- Lead the transition of services from other bodies, including Police and Fire services, in line with the emerging devolution agenda.
- Prepare and plan for evolving funding arrangements for Mayoral Strategic Authorities, focusing on local taxation assignments and enhanced fiscal autonomy.
- Translate complex financial data into meaningful insights that shape financial strategy and drive improvements across the organisation.
- Influence senior stakeholders to ensure value for money and robust stewardship of public funds.
- Enhance financial capability across services, contributing to improved financial planning and performance frameworks.
- Play an integral role in organisational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a finance business partner role, particularly within a devolution or combined authority context.
- Strong strategic financial acumen, with the ability to challenge and influence at senior levels.
- Expertise in translating complex financial data into actionable insights.
- A track record of driving improvements in financial planning and performance management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across various departments.
