Job summary

An exciting opportunity for an experienced SACT Nurse to apply for a Lead SACT role within University Hospitals Dorset. The postholder will lead in developing, contributing to and influencing SACT services within UHD and within the remit of UHDs partners as well as nationally to enable partnership development across services.

The individual will join the cancer care team, working closely with the medical, allied health professional and other clinical and non-clinical staff, to provide a high quality, effective, efficient and person-centred service. Leadership for service development, evaluation and quality improvement, and contributing to education and research, are expected as part of the role.

The post holder will be actively involved in providing strategic direction, clinical expertise and professional leadership to support high-quality nursing care and patient experience. They will also provide professional role modelling to lead and inspire the professional development of nursing within SACT.

Base Locations: Cross site at Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Poole Hospital

Main duties of the job

We are seeking applications for a Lead SACT Nurse to provide expert clinical and professional leadership for SACT across University Hospitals Dorset. Working collaboratively with Cancer Care leadership, oncology and haematology clinicians, pharmacy and the wider multidisciplinary team, the post holder will ensure the delivery and continued development of safe, effective, evidence-based and patient-centred SACT services. As an expert practitioner, the post holder will provide specialist advice, leadership, education and clinical support, whilst leading service improvement, workforce development and robust governance across SACT services.
