You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in St Neots in where we are responsible for working with National Highways on a £679 million transformation of the A428, unlocking faster, smoother journeys between Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge. This project will save precious commuting time, cut carbon emissions and open up long-term opportunities for local people and businesses.

Our Infrastructure team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.

We are currently looking for a Cost Controller who will Work with Doncaster shared services, Operations teams and Commercial to ensure alignment of cost in the Project cost control and Finance systems.

As the Cost Controller, you will:

  • Daily updating and maintaining the A/P, Aggregates and Materials Trackers.
  • Ensuring month end accruals are accurate and rectify any issues.
  • Matching invoices with receipts in a timely manner and resolve not passed invoice queries promptly.
  • Use the cost reporting dashboard to enter invoices into our cost management system.
  • Assisting other departments with their workload and any other duties which may be required to ensure the smooth running of the project.
  • GRN material and plant delivery notes along with timesheets into Oracle.

We are looking for:

  • Proficient in using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Previous experience using Oracle GRN systems, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), with strong numeracy skills and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data entry, spreadsheet management and basic reporting function
