Financial Controller | 14-Month Maternity Cover

£85,000 - £90,000 + 10% Pension | 4-Day Working Week | Uxbridge

I'm currently working exclusively with a well-established manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Financial Controller on a 14-month maternity cover basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant looking for a senior finance role with genuine ownership, strong exposure to the Finance Director and a highly attractive working pattern.

• £85,000 - £90,000 salary

• 10% employer pension contribution

• 4-day working week - full-time hours worked across 4 days, with every Friday off

• Only 2 days per week on-site in Uxbridge

• 14-month maternity cover

• Senior position reporting directly to the Finance Director

You'll take ownership of the financial control, accounting and compliance function, ensuring robust controls, accurate reporting and continuous improvement across the finance operation.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading financial control, accounting and compliance activities

• Full ownership of balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls

• Monthly reporting and SOX reconciliations

• Statutory accounts and tax reporting

• Cash flow management and bank reconciliations

• Overseeing accounts payable and debtor management

• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning

• Overhead and budget variance analysis

• Supporting and challenging budget holders across the business

• Leading the year-end statutory accounting process

• Supporting internal and external audits

• Ensuring appropriate financial controls and processes are maintained

• Leading and developing members of the finance team

We're looking for a fully qualified accountant with 5+ years' post-qualification experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing, SME or project-based environment.

You'll need strong technical accounting and financial control experience, alongside the confidence to operate autonomously, influence stakeholders and lead a small finance team.

Experience with IFRS / US GAAP and IFS would be advantageous.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercially minded, analytical, hands-on and comfortable operating in a complex environment.
