You will be supporting the Estates and Facilities Manager in managing the maintenance of our Oxford site and other sites in the surrounding area. You'd be a core member of an organisation that's fundamental to the health and resilience of the nation.

We are always keen to appreciate the experience of new staff, whether you have private sector experience of building maintenance or you have worked within other NHS trusts. You will be joining friendly, passionate colleagues, rich in their diversity, who are committed to providing excellent care to our service users and their loved ones.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you'll help the Estates & Facilities Manager in managing the effective and efficient delivery of local NHSBT site services. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as a key point of contact for local stakeholders, building strong relationships and responding to service needs effectively.
  • Lead and support teams, contractors, and service providers, creating a positive, collaborative environment focused on performance and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to planning and delivering facilities projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by supporting risk assessments, health and safety compliance, and emergency response arrangements.
  • Help manage contracts, budgets, and resources, ensuring services are efficient and deliver value for money.
  • Contribute to business continuity planning, responding effectively to incidents or unexpected events.
  • Support the development and implementation of best practice, procedures, and quality systems.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours when required, with prior notice.
