We are looking for a forward-thinking Organisational Development Partner to support the Council in developing an engaged, capable and high-performing workforce. The post is available on a 12-month temporary contract, with secondment applications encouraged. Organisational Development Partner
Working as part of the Corporate HR and Organisational Learning service, and reporting to the Organisational Development Manager, you will operate as a trusted organisational development partner to senior leaders, managers and services across the Council. You will diagnose organisational and workforce development needs and design practical interventions that support the delivery of Council priorities.
A key focus of the role will be supporting the Council’s People Strategy priorities and Culture transformation work. You will help translate the Council’s values and desired culture into meaningful behaviours, leadership practices and employee experiences. This will include supporting culture and engagement initiatives, leadership and management development, staff survey activity, talent and succession planning, coaching, learning and development, and organisational change.
You will work collaboratively with the OD Manager and colleagues across HR and Organisational Learning to develop and deliver corporate OD priorities. You will also build effective relationships across the organisation, understand the challenges facing individual services and translate these into evidence-based organisational development solutions.
The role will support the Council to embed sustainable cultural change, strengthen leadership capability, improve employee engagement and create the conditions in which colleagues can perform at their best. You will evaluate the impact of interventions and ensure that organisational development activity delivers measurable benefits for the Council, its workforce and residents.
We are proud to offer a hybrid working arrangement, providing colleagues with the flexibility to work from home. The successful candidate will be expected to work from the office for a minimum of 2 days per week and must be flexible to attend the office or other locations more frequently when organisational or project needs require.

Candidate Profile Organisational Development Partner
We are looking for candidates with either direct experience, or strong transferable skills, in organisational development, learning and development, HR, workforce development or a closely related field.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of identifying and diagnosing organisational, cultural, leadership or workforce development needs, or evidence of relevant transferable experience from another area or profession.
- The ability to design and deliver practical organisational development interventions.
- Experience of successfully delivering projects that support transformation or wider organisational change.
- Confidence in working with senior leaders and managers, building effective relationships and providing advice and constructive challenge.
- Strong facilitation, presentation, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to manage projects and balance multiple priorities.
- An understanding of leadership, organisational culture, employee engagement and behavioural change.
- The ability to use data, feedback and evaluation to assess effectiveness and demonstrate impact.
- A collaborative, inclusive and customer-focused approach.
