Job summary

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? We currently looking for a RMN band 6 .

Nightingale House is a 13 bedded, mixed gender rehab unit within walking distance to both Westbourne shops & the beach. We support people who have chronic mental health problems that may be treatment resistant, often providing a stepping stone for those who have previously spent long periods in hospital

We work to provide a seamless transition from inpatient into the community, ensuring the patient is supported on this stage of their recovery. Staff work to facilitate further recovery, that can include supporting self-medication, gaining skills for more independent living such as cooking, shopping, budgeting & supporting individuals to access community activities

Our vision is to provide a service that is fully integrated with the local community & the resources it can provide

This role requires a registered professional who is motivated, driven and passionate about developing an outstanding service

Induction will be provided plus additional & varied training opportunities

This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week) post that covers both days, nights and weekends on rotation

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.

Main duties of the job

To assist the Ward Manager in providing high quality nursing care and treatment of patients in conjunction with other professionals through the service's multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment, interventions and care programmes, which will include close liaison with family, carers, community teams, GP's, and other professionals involved in theperson's care, enabling them to move on to the community as soon as is practicable.

To work with people to help them acquire or regain the skills and confidence required for them to ultimately live in the community. Focusing on addressing and minimising the symptoms and functional impairment that people may have, with an emphasis on achieving as much individual autonomy and independence as possible.

To develop therapeutic relationships with individuals and engage them in collaborative and effective partnership working to achieve agreed goals.

To contribute to the provision of a daily structure and range of effective clinical interventions, so as to balance the therapeutic needs of the person with the need for support and security, and to promote their individuality and autonomy in the least restrictive environment.
