We are looking for a Bank Health Care Assistant to join our Theatre & Endoscopy team. As part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in ensuring patients receive safe, high-quality care before, during and after their procedures. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant or someone with a caring background who is keen to develop within a theatre environment.
This role is offered on a bank (0-hour) contract. There are no guaranteed hours, and shifts will be offered depending on business needs. You can accept or decline shifts based on your availability, making this a flexible optionbut it may not be suitable if you are seeking consistent or full-time hours.
Main duties of the job
As our Bank Health Care Assistant within Theatre & Endoscopy, you'll support registered nurses and theatre practitioners in delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with patient transfers, positioning and comfort
- Supporting theatre teams during procedures as a circulator
- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining theatre and endoscopy areas
- Ensuring equipment and stock levels are maintained
- Supporting infection prevention and control practices
- Assisting with the care and maintenance of endoscopy equipment
- Completing accurate documentation and communicating effectively with colleagues
- Contributing to a positive patient experience while maintaining dignity, respect and confidentiality at all times.

With your experience in working as a Healthcare Assistant or in another caring role, you will also have:

- Excellent communication skills
- Strong team-working abilities
- The ability to prioritise workload and work within agreed boundaries
- An understanding of confidentiality and professional standards
- Flexibility to work bank shifts as required
While not essential, experience within an operating theatre environment or an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Operating Department Support would be advantageous.
