Job summary

Join Ribble Court Care Home as our Physiotherapist and make a real difference to the lives of residents with complex bariatric rehabilitation needs. Working with a small, defined caseload of up to seven residents, you'll lead physiotherapy assessments, rehabilitation planning and targeted interventions that help people build strength, improve mobility, maintain independence and achieve meaningful goals.

Supported by a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant and an experienced nursing and care team, you'll have the opportunity to deliver person-centred, hands-on clinical care while enjoying an excellent work-life balance with 18 to 19.5 hours across three weekdays and no weekend working. If you're an HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with strong rehabilitation and mobility skills and a passion for improving quality of life, we'd love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

As the Physiotherapist, you will lead the assessment, planning and delivery of physiotherapy and rehabilitation programmes for a small caseload of bariatric residents. You will help residents improve strength, mobility, physical function and independence through person-centred interventions tailored to their individual needs.

Key duties include assessing residents' mobility and rehabilitation needs, developing and reviewing treatment plans, delivering targeted physiotherapy interventions, providing specialist advice on mobility, moving and handling, monitoring progress, maintaining accurate clinical records, and working closely with the Physiotherapy Assistant, nursing team and wider multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible outcomes for residents.

  • Degree or recognised professional qualification in Physiotherapy.
  • Current HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration.
  • Demonstrable post-registration physiotherapy experience.
  • Strong clinical assessment, rehabilitation and mobility skills.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex physical or mobility needs.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a defined caseload.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.
  • Person-centred approach with a commitment to improving residents' mobility, independence and quality of life.
  • Previous bariatric care experience desirable, although not essential for candidates with strong transferable rehabilitation and complex mobility experience.

  • Previous experience working with bariatric residents or within a bariatric care setting.
  • Experience delivering rehabilitation programmes in a care home, community, or long-term care environment.
  • Knowledge of specialist bariatric equipment, mobility aids, and moving and handling practices.
  • Experience supervising, supporting, or providing clinical direction to Physiotherapy Assistants or support staff.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care.
  • Confidence adapting rehabilitation plans to meet complex and changing clinical needs.
