Purchase Ledger Clerk

NXTGEN Recruitment is supporting a well-established and successful business in Great Yarmouth with the appointment of an experienced Purchase Ledger professional on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Joining a supportive finance team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day purchase ledger and ensure supplier accounts are processed accurately and efficiently. The business operates across both UK and international markets, giving the role additional variety through foreign payments and a broad supplier base.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Processing purchase invoices and matching them against purchase orders
• Creating and maintaining accurate supplier records
• Reconciling supplier statements and investigating discrepancies
• Preparing monthly supplier payment runs
• Processing weekly international and foreign-currency payments
• Allocating payments against supplier accounts
• Managing staff expenses, company credit cards and petty cash
• Processing credit notes, returns and proforma payments
• Responding to supplier queries and resolving issues promptly
• Working with teams across the business to improve the flow of financial information
• Supporting the wider finance team when required

This position would suit someone who has:

• Previous Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable experience
• Experience completing supplier reconciliations and payment runs
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Good Excel skills
• Experience using an integrated finance or accounting system
• AAT studies or equivalent practical accounting experience
• The ability to organise and prioritise a varied workload
• A proactive and confident approach to resolving queries
