Procurement Engineer

Location: Oxford

Contract Length: 12 months

Hourly Rate: £26.00 - £40.00 PAYE


Our client Is seeking a skilled Procurement Engineer to enhance their procurement team for an initial temporary contract of 12 months. This position presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with expertise in procurement processes, supply chain management, and engineering principles to contribute to the organisation's goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organisation's objectives.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate contracts to ensure the best value for the organisation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to define material and service requirements, ensuring specifications are met.
  • Manage supplier relationships, ensuring performance is monitored and maintained according to agreed terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless procurement operations and resolve any procurement-related issues.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and compliance reports.
  • Monitor industry trends and developments to ensure the organisation remains competitive in its procurement practises.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement engineering or a similar role within a relevant industry.
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in using procurement software and tools, along with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A results-oriented approach, demonstrating the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
