Job summary
We are looking for a Locum Pharmacist to cover an assignment with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), at DMRC Stanford Hall, in Loughborough, Leicestershire .
Work pattern: Monday - Friday (37.5 hours)
The successful applicant will deliver an exceptional standard of care to the MoD service personnel.
Pay Rate:
Paye - £31.01 (£27.67 + £3.34 holiday pay) per hour
Umbrella - £35.66 per hour
Main duties of the job
- To provide specialist professional advice and leadership on prescribing and pharmaceutical issues to DMRC.
- To act as pharmaceutical advisor to the Commanding Officer and Clinical Director.
- To manage and develop clinical and ward pharmacy services within DMRC Headley Court.
- To provide SME advice to clinician ward rounds and patient review meetings as appropriate.
- To monitor interventions in treatment to identify training and information needs
- To provide pharmacy services including clinical review, ward rounds, in and outpatient dispensing.
- To provide expert advice to specialist consultants, medical and nursing staff.
- To provide pharmacy-related training to regional staff, including SMOs, MOs, CMPs, Pharmacy Technicians, Nurses, and CMT/Medics.
- To contribute, manage and ensure that the dispensing of prescriptions is in accordance with professional, legal and ethical standards and MOD policy and liaise with prescribers on any inconsistencies as required.
- To support cost-effective and appropriate prescribing by promoting the use of the defence primary care formulary.
- To provide specialist medicine information to clinical staff within DMRC Headley court.
- To maintain a safe workplace in accordance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH guidelines and MOD policy.

Qualifications
Essential
- Must be a qualified pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Must have four years post qualification experience or Band 7 experience in hospital.
- Must have experience in secondary healthcare pharmacy to include dispensary work.
