St Julians Medical Centre is a friendly, well-established GP surgery and training practice in Newport, caring for approximately 15,000 patients.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our supportive team for 46 sessions per week, working across Monday, Thursday and Friday with on calls £12,500 per session.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will manage a varied clinical caseload and provide high-quality general medical services to our registered patients. Including MDT meetings, on-call surgeries and home visits both routine/chronic and acute.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our supportive team for 46 sessions per week, working across Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Our clinical team comprises
5 GP Partners
2 Salaried GPs
2 GP Registrars
3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners
An experienced nursing, healthcare and administrative team

As a training practice, we value the contribution that teaching and training brings to the whole team. We currently support two GP Registrars and have a strong culture of learning and development.

The role will include
Face-to-face, telephone and appropriate online consultations
Management of acute and long-term conditions
Appropriate prescribing and medicines management
Reviewing results, correspondence and clinical information
Referrals and associated clinical administration
Clinically necessary home visits
Participation in the practice duty/on-call rota
Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS
Working collaboratively with the wider practice team
Participating in clinical meetings, audit and quality improvement
The postholder will work as an autonomous practitioner and be expected to practise in accordance with the standards set out by the General Medical Council (GMC).
What We Offer£12,500 per session per annum
46 sessions per week
Working days: Monday, Thursday and Friday
6 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays.
