We are looking for an experienced Integration Engineer to support a major programme within a complex and highly regulated environment.
The successful consultant will bring strong hands-on integration experience, with particular expertise in designing, developing and supporting integrations between enterprise applications and services.
You will work closely with application, engineering and testing teams to deliver reliable integrations across the programme, supporting the movement of data between systems and troubleshooting integration issues throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, configure and support integrations between enterprise applications and services.
- Build and maintain API and system-to-system integrations.
- Work with technical and functional teams to understand integration requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
- Support data exchange and transformation between applications and platforms.
- Develop and maintain integration interfaces and associated technical components.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, data issues and system connectivity problems.
- Support integration testing, defect resolution and deployment activities.
- Ensure integrations are secure, reliable and appropriately documented.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, application and testing teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Produce technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer where required.
- Strong hands-on experience as an Integration Engineer / Integration Developer within complex enterprise environments.
- Experience designing and developing APIs and system-to-system integrations.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services and integration patterns.
- Experience working with JSON, XML and data transformation/mapping.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex integration and interface issues.
- Understanding of authentication, security and access controls within enterprise integrations.
- Experience supporting integration testing and deployment activities.
- Ability to work across multiple applications and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience integrating enterprise asset management or IBM Maximo solutions with wider systems.
- Experience within defence, government or UK public-sector programmes.
- Experience working within highly regulated or security-critical environments.
- Knowledge of cloud-based integration services and architectures.
- Experience with messaging, middleware and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Experience working within Agile engineering and delivery teams.
