Job summary
We are seeking 1-2 dedicated and compassionate GPs to join our team for a salaried position, working between 4-6 sessions per week. This role includes pro-rata on-call sessions, where youll be providing essential patient support and acute care services. The position also involves the possibility of conducting home visits, offering comprehensive care to patients who may require assistance outside the practice.

Our clinical team comprises of:
- 4 GP Partners
- 1 ACP
- 2 Practice Nurses
- 2 HCAs
- 1 Phlebotomist
As well as an excellent and supportive reception and administrative team.
Our practice is one of 11 members of the Greater Derby PCN with access to collaborative services, such as the Home Visiting Service, Chronic Pain clinics and Admiral Nurses.

Job responsibilities
The Salaried GP will provide high-quality medical care to our diverse patient population, managing a range of health issues in both routine and urgent cases. The GP will collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care and Clinical Duties
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based medical care in routine, complex, and urgent cases
- Conduct consultations, examinations, and treatment plans for both scheduled and unscheduled patients
- Handle minor surgery and diagnostic procedures, where appropriate, in line with professional competencies
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive, and timely patient records
- Collaborative Teamwork
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including nurses, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff to provide seamless patient care
- Participate in clinical meetings and practice discussions, contributing to best-practice sharing and continuous improvement
- Engage with external agencies as necessary to ensure holistic patient care
- Practice Development and Quality Improvement
- Contribute to maintaining high standards, supporting the practice's QC rating and positive patient satisfaction outcomes
- Participate in audits, quality improvement projects, and practice initiatives
- Stay updated on clinical best practices and provide feedback on new healthcare developments
- Administrative Duties
- Contribute to administrative tasks related to patient care, such as medical reports, referrals, and follow-up actions
- Support the management team in meeting regulatory and contractual obligations
- Adhere to confidentiality and data protection guidelines
- Professional Development and Education
- Pursue continuing professional development (CPD) to maintain and enhance medical skills and knowledge
- Participate in appraisal and revalidation processes
- Mentor and support junior staff and students as needed
