Job summary

Are you a tenacious, organised and skilled Practitioner? Are you committed to delivering high-quality healthcare to patients?

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our GP Practice.

This Advanced Nurse Practitioner role will involve working alongside a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists, HCA's and Mental Health Practitioners to provide care and treatment to patients.

The successful Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children. This may be by face-to-face consultation, telephone or video consultation triage or visiting the patient at home.Additional training can be provided for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

What you will get as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner;

  • Competitive salary; £55,000 - £60,000 per annum (DOE)
  • Contract; Salaried
  • Hours; 6-8 Sessions over 4 days

What we are looking for in an Advanced Nurse Practitioner;

  • Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Hold an Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification or working towards this qualification
  • Can show evidence of using autonomous physical examination and assessment skills in practice
  • Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children
  • Knowledge and experience of QOF desirable

The successful post holder will act autonomously within their professional scope of practice providing care for patients face to face, via telephone and video triage and home visits. Check and sign repeat prescriptions, deal with patient queries, paperwork and correspondence within agreed time scales.

The successful postholder will operate within their own sphere of competence and agreed acceptable limits of practice to provide expert professional clinical advice to patients, carers and colleagues, ensuring clinical safety and excellence.

The successful post holder will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients, accordingly, making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner.

The successful postholder will use skills, knowledge and competencies as a qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner to be responsible and accountable for managing patient caseloads for treatments, referral, admission and discharging patients as appropriate.

  • Able to order appropriate investigations (bloods/radiology).
