An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Reconciliations Clerk to join a well-established, community-focused organisation in Swansea.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong finance background who enjoys working with detail, solving problems and making sure everything balances exactly as it should.
You'll play an important role within the finance team, taking ownership of reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and helping maintain accurate and reliable financial records.
The roleYou'll be responsible for ensuring financial information is accurate, complete and up to date, with a particular focus on reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing regular bank, customer, supplier and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigating discrepancies and getting to the root of any issues.
- Identifying missing, duplicated or incorrectly allocated transactions.
- Reviewing outstanding reconciliation items and ensuring they are resolved.
- Maintaining clear and accurate reconciliation schedules.
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes.
- Working with colleagues to investigate and resolve financial queries.
- Supporting financial controls and ensuring processes are followed.
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and make them more efficient.
- Providing wider support to the finance team where required.
You'll be someone who naturally spots when something doesn't look right and enjoys figuring out what's happened.
You'll bring:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or reconciliations role.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles.
- Experience investigating and resolving financial discrepancies.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
- Excellent organisation and time management.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to improve existing processes.
An AAT qualification or equivalent experience would be advantageous, as would experience with month-end, balance sheet reconciliations or accounting/ERP systems.
