The closing date is 10 September 2026
Job summary
We're looking for a proactive and highly organised individual to join our welcoming team in the Paediatric Department looking after sub-specialties cardiology and general paediatrics. In this role, you'll work closely with an experienced Medical Secretary Team, providing vital administrative support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and making a real difference in the smooth running of our services.
You'll be working alongside a supportive and enthusiastic team, liaising with colleagues across all levels. Strong administrative skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a proactive, flexible approach are essential. You'll be expected to maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality in all aspects of your work.
If you're a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you. Join us and contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace where your skills are truly valued.
Main duties of the job
In this key role, you will:
- Provide a complete medical administrative service including Referral to Treatment (RTT), patient correspondence and editing and formatting letters.
- Liaising with Nurses, Doctors and other members of the multidisciplinary team including inpatient and outpatient bookings teams to provide a quality service for the patients.
- Working as part of a team, sharing responsibility for the smooth running of the administrative service to deliver safe patient care
- To provide a first point of contact, answering all telephone enquiries, taking and relaying messages in a polite and helpful manner, and using own judgement to establish the priority of issues and taking action as appropriate.
You don't need NHS experience - just the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to high standards. We offer flexibility in working arrangements and a chance to be part of a team that truly makes a difference.
If you're detail-oriented, confident using Microsoft Office, have strong typing skills, are eager to learn and ready to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
