Job summary
The post holder will be required to provide combined Clinical Support Worker/Care Support Worker skills within the Silverdale Orthopaedic fracture clinic.
They must be flexible, dynamic and have the ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
Assist doctors and colleagues with investigations and procedures.
Provide support to ensure smooth transfer of patients between wards and departments.
Be familiar with, and work to, the protocols and polices of the Trust, paying particular attention to infection control, equality and diversity and privacy and dignity.
The role requires close liaison with other disciplines and the provision of a courteous, reliable and quality service to patients' relatives and carers, healthcare professionals and all wards and departments across the Trust.
Be aware of the Health and Safety polices in relation to patients and staff.
Main duties of the job
The role of the Clinical Support Worker is to work day shifts across 5 days assisting with the smooth running of a busy fracture clinic, processing patients, assisting consultants and medical teams, carrying out dressings independently. Assisting patients in and out of clinic as well as many administrative duties.
Must be able to work as part of a team, prioritising tasks and escalating any concerns to senior colleagues.
The post holder will also be expected to provide all aspects of fundamental care to the patients in the Silverdale Orthopaedic fracture clinic.
