Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and dynamic nurse to join our team at the Haematology Day Unit at Prince Charles Hospital & Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The position will involve 2/3 days developing and streamlining the nurse led Hemochromatosis service and the remainder of the time on the Haematology day unit.

Main duties of the job

The Pathology Directorate is looking to appoint one 37.5 hour Band 6 Chemotherapy nurse to the existing service. The post holder will be based at the Prince Charles Hospital and required to attended Royal Glamorgan Hospital. The post holder will be part of a nursing team supporting the Haematology Day Unit Manager to deliver a safe and efficient Haematology service within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB), working closely with the multidisciplinary team. The position will involve 2/3 days developing and streamlining the nurse led Hemochromatosis service and the remainder of the time on the Haematology day unit.

The role will include providing expert advice, education to all levels of staff to improve the safety and effectiveness of the practice throughout the CTMUHB, in accordance with NPSA notice 18 and ensure cancer standards are adhered to as in Cancer Delivery Plan (2016-2020). Amongst other aspects of the role the post holder will be expected to perform local audits, incident investigation and subsequent reports to the relevant forums.
