Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, term time only

Aspire People have partnered with a specialist SEN school in Hinckley who are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and experienced SEN Nursery Teaching Assistant to join their early years team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with young children with additional needs and wants to help them develop their communication, confidence, independence and early learning skills.

About the Role

Working within an SEN nursery setting, you will provide hands-on support to young children with a range of additional needs, helping them feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting young children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
Helping children develop their communication and social skills
Supporting early learning through play-based activities
Encouraging independence and personal development
Supporting children's emotional regulation and wellbeing
Helping children with sensory needs and individual routines
Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
Supporting children with transitions and changes in routine
Building positive and trusting relationships with children
Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
Following individual support and learning plans

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who:

Has previous experience working with young children with SEN
Ideally has experience within a nursery, early years or specialist SEN setting
Is patient, caring and nurturing
Understands the importance of play-based learning and early development
Is confident supporting children with communication and sensory needs
Can build strong relationships with young children
Is calm, adaptable and resilient
Works well as part of a wider team
Is committed to working Monday-Friday, term time only
