CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

  • £40.44 per hour via Umbrella
  • Belfast - 100% onsite | 36 hours per week
  • 12-month initial contract with likely extension
  • Lead major capital and infrastructure projects from design through to handover

ABOUT THE CLIENT:

Our client is a major international organisation delivering complex engineering, manufacturing and infrastructure programmes across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established project environment, taking ownership of significant capital projects and working with multidisciplinary teams, consultants and construction partners. Due to continued project activity, they are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join their Belfast team.

THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER ROLE:

As a Construction Project Manager, you will take ownership of end-to-end delivery of identified capital projects, ensuring they are delivered to budget, schedule and quality requirements.

You will manage project design development through Design & Build, develop delivery plans and CAPEX business cases, manage risks and budgets, and coordinate internal and external stakeholders. You will also procure and manage multidisciplinary consultants covering areas including architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical and structural engineering.

You will oversee construction service providers, ensure compliance with project governance and Health & Safety requirements, manage change and provide clear project reporting through to commissioning, handover and close-out.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing large or multiple infrastructure/capital construction projects
  • Strong construction project management and contract management experience
  • Knowledge of major contract forms, particularly NEC
  • Strong understanding of the full construction lifecycle
  • Experience managing supply chains, design services and construction works
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks and project controls
  • Knowledge of construction Health & Safety practices
  • Foundation-level understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems
  • Strong stakeholder and multidisciplinary team management skills
  • Experience producing and presenting comprehensive project reports
  • Relevant engineering, design, construction or project management qualification, or significant practical experience
  • Professional membership such as RICS, APM, IMechE or IET and/or PRINCE2/PMP desirable
  • MS Project and G-Suite experience desirable
