An opportunity is available for a Supported Housing Officer / Customer Support Coordinator with a housing provider delivering supported accommodation and housing-related services to adults across Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
The role provides frontline support across two six-bedroom supported housing services, working with adults aged 18+ who may have additional needs, including mental health support needs. The focus is on helping residents develop independent living skills, prepare for employment and successfully move into longer-term accommodation, alongside day-to-day housing management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly welfare checks and monthly support plan reviews.
- Provide person-centred, housing-related support to promote independence and employment readiness.
- Maintain accurate electronic case notes, support plans and service records.
- Monitor rent, Housing Benefit and service charges, supporting residents with payment issues.
- Liaise with partner agencies to support successful move-on and access to grants.
- Assess prospective residents and coordinate lettings, move-ins and voids.
- Complete routine health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing.
- Manage your own diary and effectively divide your time between two services.
- Work autonomously while maintaining a strong focus on resident wellbeing and safeguarding.
- Previous experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally in supported housing, homelessness or a housing-related setting.
- Person-centred approach with the ability to encourage independence.
- Strong IT and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload and travel between locations.
- Knowledge of Housing Benefit, rent monitoring, service charges, voids and lettings is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS required due to lone-working responsibilities; an existing recent certificate is preferred.
- Driving licence and access to transport desirable but not essential.
- £20.00 per hour via Umbrella
- 36 hours per week
- Temporary assignment 2-3 months with potential to extend
- Immediate start available
- Fully site-based role across Bristol and South Gloucestershire
- Flexible working patterns may be considered, including 8am–4pm, 9am–5pm, varied daily hours or a nine-day fortnight, subject to service requirements
