Job summary

The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a clean and safe environment for our service users.The individualis responsible forundertaking generalporteringand caretaker duties. The post holder is expected tooperatein line with Gloucestershire Health and Care (GHC) NHS Foundation Trust values anddemonstratea high levelor professionalism and customer service when carrying out this role.The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and at other sites within the GHC localities.

Main duties of the job

  • Patient movement to appointments ensuring their dignity and safety ismaintainedat all times.

  • Check,monitorgaspressures and contentsand record, order medical gases according to correct Trust procedures, report any defects to Facilities Supervisor.

  • Undertake driving duties, stores deliveries and equipment removals

  • Receive" goods in" and make deliveries - coordinate all deliveries to ensure the best use of resources

  • Responsiblefor waste management on site,collectionand storage of waste from locations.

  • Timely transportation of post,parcelsand medical records to agreed points

  • Assistwith theremovalofcurtains as part of the curtain change programme.

  • Regularly transport bagged dirty linen from all areas to theappropriate collectionarea

  • Complete property inspections, checking for damage, rectify basic faultse.g.replace ceiling tiles, unblocking toilets.report results using theEstatesFaultReporting portal,

  • Conduct basic PPM, tasks such as emergency lighting, fire alarm testing, fire doorchecksand PAT testing for patient property

  • Clean equipment, for example wheelchairs, trolleys - this is not an exhaustive lis

This high-level overview shows we are in a healthy position, with higher scores than average for comparable organisations, alongside a great response rate, indicating good staff engagement. However, we also know we have plenty of room for improvement in many areas. To that end, we continue to prioritise and invest in our commitment to genuinely becoming a Great Place to Work with consistent top-quartile performance in the annual staff survey and Pulse surveys.
