Main duties of the job

As a Residential Senior Carer at Barchester care home, you will oversee the diverse requirements of our residents to ensure high-quality, person-centred care and support. Leadership of a care staff team will be your responsibility, which includes conducting training, supervisions, and delegating tasks during shifts. Additionally, support in administering and ordering medication, updating resident care plans and conducting risk assessments, and coordinating with GPs, district nursing teams, and family members is expected. Respect for residents' dignity and preferences are essential, contributing to creating a warm, welcoming, and lively environment. Suitable candidates will hold an NVQ Level 3 or Advanced Diploma in Health & Social Care. Experience in a residential care environment, along with demonstrated team leadership skills and a capacity for making decisions in support of resident wellbeing, is crucial. This role offers opportunities for career development through ongoing training, enabling career progression to Care Practitioners or nursing pathways.
