Quality Engineer – Contract
Contract | Initial 6 Months | Outside IR35 | Full-Time On-Site | Multiple Headcount
West Midlands
Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong background in PFMEA, PPAP and APQP within a manufacturing environment?
An established engineering manufacturing business in the Automotive sector is experiencing a significant increase in workload and is looking to add multiple Quality Engineers to the team on an initial 6-month contract basis, with further opportunities likely as the business continues to grow.
This is a hands-on role where you will initially focus heavily on the generation and development of core quality documentation, before becoming increasingly involved in wider quality and manufacturing engineering activities.
The Role
You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing and production teams to ensure new and existing products can be manufactured effectively and consistently to customer requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining PFMEAs, PPAP documentation and APQP deliverables for new and existing products.
- Working closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to identify potential quality and manufacturing risks and implement robust controls.
- Reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, with an understanding of GD&T and the ability to assess design feasibility from a manufacturing perspective.
- Supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement activities as the role develops into a more hands-on quality position.
- Working cross-functionally to ensure quality requirements are understood, documented and effectively implemented on the shop floor.
We are looking for Quality Engineers who have a strong background in a manufacturing or engineering environment, ideally with experience in plastics, automotive, or other high-precision manufacturing sectors.
You will ideally have:
- Strong practical experience producing PFMEAs, PPAPs and APQP documentation.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and an understanding of GD&T.
- The ability to assess design and process feasibility and identify potential manufacturing issues.
- A hands-on, proactive approach and the confidence to work directly with engineering and production teams.
This is a full-time, site-based position and requires candidates who are comfortable working on-site.
With multiple positions available, this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy engineering business at a time of significant demand, with the potential for further work beyond the initial 6-month contract.
