We are working with a well-established business based in Pontefract who are looking for a Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 3 month contract.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to step into a varied role and provide support across the wider finance function.

The Role

As Management Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting financial reporting.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances.
• Preparing and posting journals, including accruals and prepayments.
• Providing financial analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
• Supporting with budgeting and forecasting activity.
• Assisting with month-end processes and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Producing ad hoc financial reports and analysis as required.
• Working closely with colleagues across the wider business to provide accurate financial information.

About You

We're looking for a Management Accountant with strong management accounting experience who can quickly settle into a new environment and hit the ground running.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience working in a management accounting role.
• Strong month-end and management accounts experience.
• Good knowledge of balance sheet reconciliations and journals.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach.
• The ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business.
