Job summary
Salaried GP 6 - 8 sessions per week, with future partnership potential
We are based in the heart of the stunning Welsh/Shropshire border countryside within a 30 minute drive from Shrewsbury, Oswestry or Newtown.
We already support and welcome GP's with special interests. We currently provide coils, nexplanons, joint injections, minor surgery, pre hospital care, frailty, medical student teaching and GP training.
A successful candidate would enjoy the standard routine clinics , but also have ample opportuniti9es to continue or embark on a specialist interest.
A typical working week would include a routine clinic, with 15 minute face to face appointments and 10 minute telephone appointments. In addition, you will be part of the rota providing care for our local community hospital a five minute walk from the surgery. This small cottage hospital is a fantastic and well established resource for our patients.
At Welshpool you will become part of a close knit, forward thinking team that values collaboration, wellbeing and high quality patient care. An informal visit and discussion are warmly welcomed.

About us
Welshpool Medical Practice is a forward thinking, two sited Practice, located on the Powys/Shropshire border.
Welshpool is a market town located within beautiful Mid Wales, within easy commuting distance to Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Ellesmere. Our main site is based in Welshpool, enveloped with a branch surgery nestled within the country village of Guilsfield.
We are a Dispensing Practice with a growing list size of 11,400 patients. As an Advanced Training Practice we offer opportunities to GP Registrars and Medical Students. We are proud to be an Inspectorate of Wales high achieving Practice.
We provide cover to our local Community Hospital with its inpatient beds and Minor Injury Unit.
Our Practice Team consists of six GP Partners, 2 Salaried GP, 1 Retainer Salaried GP working with wonderful Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Triage nurses, Paramedic, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Management Team, Pharmacy Technicians, Dispensers, Receptionists and Administrators. We are appreciative of our close working relationship with our super Health Board colleagues who are located close to the Practice.
