Job summary
At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
Important information for applicants: To ensure clarity of accountability, scope of practice and professional responsibilities, the Trust does not normally appoint individuals holding active NMC or HCPC registration into Band 2 Clinical/AHP Support Worker, Band 3 Senior Clinical/AHP Support Worker or Band 4 AHP Support Worker/Technician roles. Registered nurses and Allied Health Professionals interested in joining UHNM are encouraged to explore our registered professional opportunities, which are advertised regularly across the Trust.
We are looking for an individual to undertake a Technical Instructor post within the Medicine Therapy Team at the University Hospital of North Midlands. The post offers the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The post will work within acute wards across UHNM sites: Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of Therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
Therapy Services work within a 7 day shift system therefore there is a requirement to work weekends and bank holidays.
The specialities within the rotations that will be included are as follows:
- General Surgery
- Vascular Surgery
- Frail Elderly
- Medicine acute and respiratory
- Emergency portals / A+E
- Oncology/ Renal
- Orthopaedics
- Trauma/ARTU
- Cardiothoracics
- Neuro
Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.
