ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Nurse (General) at a Barchester care home, you'll use your leadership skills to make sure our residents get the quality care we're known for. We'll look to you to be a hands-on clinical leader that creates a safe and supportive environment for our residents with a range of mental and physical needs. You'll use your professional judgement to make critical clinical decisions, from assessing the needs of a new resident to implementing safeguarding policies and administrating medicines in line with NMC regulations. As part of your wide range of responsibilities, you'll support and mentor your team to make sure they have the clinical training they need to deliver the highest standards of nursing. As a Senior Nurse (General), you'll have the freedom and autonomy to do things the right way and be truly valued and respected for what you do. Main duties of the job
As a Senior Nurse (General) at a Barchester care home, you'll use your leadership skills to ensure our residents receive the quality care we're known for. You will serve as a clinical leader who provides a safe and supportive environment for residents with various mental and physical needs. Your professional judgment will be critical in making clinical decisions, from assessing new residents' needs to implementing safeguarding policies and administering medicines according to NMC regulations. Your responsibilities will include supporting and mentoring your team to ensure they have the clinical training needed to deliver the highest standards of nursing. With freedom and autonomy, you'll be valued and respected for what you do. Candidates need to be Registered Nurses (RGN) with current NMC registration and a mentoring or supervision qualification. Experience in producing care plans and executing detailed risk assessments is important, along with up-to-date knowledge of clinical practices. Understanding regulatory frameworks like DoLs/MCA and Royal Pharmaceutical guidelines is essential.
