About the Position: When a young person faces mental health challenges, having steady, compassionate guidance during the evenings and weekends can make all the difference. We are seeking an experienced Support Worker to deliver individualised care plans and provide dedicated emotional and practical assistance to children and their families in Carlisle.

This position is ideal for experienced Support Workers, as well as individuals who have previously worked in transferable positions such as: Youth Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, Therapeutic Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, or Youth Mentor.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Deliver Personalised Support: Implement individualised care plans tailored to children with various mental health conditions.

  • Build Strong Relationships: Communicate effectively with families and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care.

  • Ensure a Safe Environment: Create a safe, nurturing space for young people while upholding essential protocols and policies.

  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep clear, timely, and detailed care notes and progress reports.

What You Will Bring:

  • A minimum of 6 months of paid UK experience in children's mental health or residential childcare settings.

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

  • Availability for evening shifts and at least 8 hours over the weekend.

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a healthcare team.
