Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in functional polymer and synthetic host-guest chemistry to work under the supervision of Professors Jason Davis and Matthew Langton for a period of up to 4 years.
About the role
This exciting opportunity is part of a 5-year European Research Council (ERC) Advanced Grant developing a new generation of hybrid nanoparticulate systems in which the interactions with molecular water are controlled. Working as part of a multidisciplinary research team, you will design and synthesis of ionophores and the generation and characterisation of responsive polymer assemblies.

About you
Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry ( or be close to completion ) prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires experience in molecular synthesis, functional polymer synthesis, and characterisation. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
The post will be based in the Department of Chemistry, and is available from January 2027
