Main duties of the job

As an Activities Coordinator within Akari Care, you'll be working in an award-winning home with a focus on personalized eldercare. You'll engage residents with diverse activities, respecting their individual preferences, and fostering an inclusive environment. Collaboration with the Home Manager and community teams is essential, aiming to provide activities that boost resident engagement, social interaction, and quality of life. Creativity is key as you help plan activities, support fundraising, manage budgets, and promote inclusive participation. Your role is crucial in maintaining a supportive, caring atmosphere, valuing each resident's dignity and individuality.

Through willingly accompanying residents, where possible, to offsite activities, you will go above and beyond for our residents.

In actively assisting with innovative fund-raising initiatives and budgeting for entertainment, materials, and outings, you will enjoy thinking creatively and out of the box with regards to ways in which additional funds can be raised to support our residents activities. You will help to ensure that you and your colleagues create an environment which is supportive, caring and kind and undertake all duties in a way which provides a secure and safe atmosphere in which our residents are valued, respected, retain their individualism and dignity in order to lead full lives.
