Data Engineer - Snowflake, DBT
£600-700/day overall assignment rate to umbrella
3-6 month initial contract
Cardiff-based - ideally once a week on-site
Working with an Insurtech client based in Cardiff who are looking for 3x Data Engineer contractors to join their Data & Analytics capability and support a combination of business-as-usual priorities and two significant strategic initiatives.
All three contractors will work within cross-functional squads, partnering closely with engineers, analysts, product teams and business stakeholders. We are looking for people who can operate with autonomy, move at pace and build high-quality, scalable data solutions rather than simply deliver pipelines to specification.
Data Engineer, Must have skills:
- Strong SQL and data modelling skills
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake
- Strong DBT or equivalent modern transformation experience
- Cloud data engineering experience, ideally AWS
- Building production-grade data pipelines and data products
- Data testing, quality and engineering best practices
- Experience working within Agile / cross-functional product teams
- Ability to work autonomously and deliver at pace
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration
Data Engineer, Nice to have:
- Experience in insurance, FinTech or other regulated environments
- Event-driven, streaming or high-volume data experience
- Data contracts and schema management
- Data observability and lineage
- Experience designing data for analytics, ML or AI consumption
- Experience contributing to greenfield system or platform builds
